What is an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF)?
An Automatic Document Feeder, or ADF, allows multiple pages to be loaded into the scanner and processed automatically rather than placing each sheet individually. Larger ADF capacities are particularly useful for regular multi-page documents and batch scanning.
Do Epson document scanners scan both sides of a page?
Many Epson document scanners support single-pass duplex scanning, capturing both sides of a document at the same time. Duplex capability varies by model, so check the individual scanner specification when comparing options.
Can Epson document scanners create searchable PDFs?
Yes. Compatible Epson software uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to recognise text within scanned documents and create searchable PDF files. This makes it much easier to find information later by searching for words or phrases contained within the document. Can Epson scanners scan directly to email, network folders or cloud services?
Selected Epson scanners can send documents directly to destinations such as email, network folders, FTP, cloud services and Microsoft SharePoint. Other models provide these workflows through Epson software such as Document Capture Pro. Available destinations vary by scanner and configuration.
Which Epson document scanners support Wi-Fi and network scanning?
Selected Epson document scanners offer Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and/or Ethernet connectivity, allowing them to be shared between users or positioned away from an individual computer.
These include the new Epson WorkForce ES-550W or the WorkForce DS-800WN and DS-900WN, which are great for sharing between teams and workgroups.
Other models use a direct USB connection, so check the connectivity options of the scanner you are considering.
Can an Epson document scanner be used without a computer?
